Not too many good or bad things I can say about the fella, he is quite a character as we all know, liked by some, hated by some, but take it from me when I say; the man cannot be taken seriously. Not one bit actually. Owen's "Frager Factor" daily publication is the DomainGang.com v1.0 full of drama and various other speculative and absolute utter bullshit.

Most recently, 2007 and 2008 were amazing years for the company as they rolled in a whopping $417.5 million in revenues, increased their staff to something like 250 deep and made some very important strategic acquisitions in order to diversify their operations + revenue streams and continue business expansion, on their quest for complete market domination in the multi-billion dollar domain industry.

Domain mass development journey started with $10k investment spun to $10m / year in profits

HelloMetro.com has over 1,500 hyperlocal mass developed city websites in 96 countries which generate millions of visitors per month. Clark Scott founded the company with one other partner and pretty much ran all of the company's operations from his Indiana home during the start-up stage. Scott built all of the website's himself with a little help from freelancers. The two partners invested about $10,000 total to get things going with this vision back in 1999. Over the years, HelloMetro has inked partnerships with SuperPages.com, ForRent.com, Yahoo.com, Vonage.com, Dollar Rent A Car, Thrifty Car Rental and many other direct advertisers for all the big bucks.

I been playing the domain drop game for a little over six years now. A lot of people nowadays complain that things just aren't what they used to be and that is true, but there is still lots of bargains available each and every day and of course and always will be --- if only you know where to look and what to look out for. Scanning 100,000+ domains daily is unrealistic. Duhhhh!! Now, not to brag or anything but I've made well into seven figures in net profit since 2003 buying expired domains and then reselling them or developing them down the road. Maybe another few hundred other individuals at most have accomplished the same as well over the years.

Nothing really compares to dot com domains because they get results, each and every time. It is the #1 extension in the world for a reason --- always has and always will be. There has been tens of billions of dollars spent on marketing dot com domains in all forms. There has been tons of money spent on dot com domains both online and offline, essentially making it a household type of thing! This is what makes them so damn sexy. Everybody understands them and likes em too.

Ok, it's really so nice of you to let everybody else collect the big bucks.. So very generous of you to choose not to take part in affiliate marketing. Thank you.. Thank you sooo much!! We appreciate it. Yup! You get the PPC (pennies per click) via AdSense or whatever and I get 10x - 100x what you get thanks to all your hard work. It's fine with me... Works for me GREAT. Man, I love you. I really do. You are my best friend. You know that? You should... Heheh.

What can domain mass development do for your business?! Uhh.. A lot more than you think!

Domain mass development is all about creating opportunities. Lots of them. There is nothing really too fancy schmancy about it and for the most part it is really done "lottery style" which should be obvious, if you didn't already know. The more web sites you launch, the more odds are in your favor in getting a lot more winners. With regular development, it is always either hit or miss and most people already know this from previous experiences, developing sites one by one... We have all tried and failed most of the times. Yes... Even I have ;)

Well boys and girls.. It has happened again. Another competitor has ripped off my creatives / content. It's funny to see this happened because the domain development niche is tiny. There isn't that many developers out there to begin with. I can count them all on my fingers. Hell, I would only need my right hand because there isn't even five real domain mass development operations out there.
The domain industry has been changing, big time. A lot of smart people have taken notice of what is going on and making their moves. Unfortunately, a lot of people are still "thinking" things over. What does that mean? I'll tell you. That means they are stuck. They don't know what to do. They are paralyzed and stuck in their old ways. The game has been changing for a while now. Since 2005. Forget the golden days. 2006, 2007 and 2008 were CRAZY good years where all the hard work paid off from as early as the mid 90's. There was a domaining BOOM.. Now there is all the doom and gloom in 2009 and on.

It all started with just a few domains and then grew into something much bigger than that. Here we are well into 2009 and those guys now have 600 prime websites and matching toll-free vanity lines in 27 consumer channels. Sounds good right? Of course.. They have all been mass developed and the same backend is used across the entire network. They were able to cut back on a lot of the costs and get the most bang for their buck. Very very smart. The guys had a great business strategy and executed it pretty well over the years. Only one thing though...

Yes, that is right... Some scandalous shocking news, reviews and controversy is very very good for business. Some of the most popular posts that I've published here that have received the most traffic and continue to receive the most traffic and drive the most sales consistently after many month's of getting published are some pretty "controversial topics" such as the billion dollar domain typos empire and exclusive insights and "revelations" of those domainer seo millionaires and so on.
Frank Schilling is one of the hardest working people in the Domain Industry. As I've reported here previously over the 6 - 7 month's, he has been making a lot of changes to hundreds of thousands of his domains in trying to squeeze out better conversion rates by experimenting with content, more click through's by providing thumbnails next to the PPC ads and so on. Here we are once again and I have more changes to report in regards to the domain parking monetization setup that is deployed across all of his domain names.

Heh... It's cool, no worries. It is not so hard coming up with a nice and functional website that will get the job done. It will generate some traffic and even earn money. That's right! It can be done easily. You will need four things in order to be in it to win it: a good keyword domain, secure and reliable web hosting, decent website design / layout and an easy to use content management system or script to provide a certain service and / or product.

My personal favorites and the ones that I always recommend to clients are the following, in no particular order: Aggressive PPC monetization, lead captures and affiliate content integration / co-brands. I've been using each and every one of those monetization methods for many years now and they each have many positives as well as some negatives too! The great thing about development though is that you have plenty of options to choose from. A ton of options!! The opportunities are virtually endless. If one thing doesn't work, you can easily go with something else. The monetization of the entire operation is always the easy part too. Only takes a few minutes to sort out...

When I found out first hand that you can make money with domains, a lot of money, and pretty easy money actually, the year was 2003... Unfortunately, I was so freakin busy with a million other things that I could barely dedicate any quality time to this new found opportunity. So, basically all I did was buy a few good domains per week when I had enough time to do the research / commit and then attempt to flip them over at eBay a few days later. So a few month's go by and I did something like 100 deals and I am thinking to myself... Time to take it to the next level. But what do you got?! You got all the shitty names and leftovers! Yep... Those three amazing genius domainers pretty much did a clean sweep right around 2001 - 2004 while everybody else was too busy with god knows what. Some of the others who invested in domains managed to do OK back then but those three in particular went at it like there was no tomorrow. Yun Ye sold his domain collection to publicly traded Marchex for $164 million a few years ago. Cha-Ching !!

They spend all of their time and energy posting BS on forums, blogs, etc. They have no idea WTF is going on in the real world. They are a wreck. They need an intervention!

Just the other day one of my clients notified me that he came across another domain development service that had a pretty similar sales pitch. So I visit the website... I look closely.. WOW! Pretty much copied me word for word. Well, I am flattered. LOL. What else is there to say?! No.. I am not going to send a C&D letter to this person's web host. No... I am not going to harass them or try to sue them. Let it be. I am sure things will take care of themselves. It's fine!

Meet Ken.. Internet guru and multi-millionaire responsible for all those hyphenated domains

Do you know who Ken Evoy is? Nope.. Of course you don't. Well, here is a quick intro: Ken is the man responsible for all of the mass development of 100,000's of hyphenated dot com domains since 1997... The guy is an internet marketing and web development pro. I saw websites produced with Ken's system as early as 2001. I remember first time browsing one of them and thinking to myself "damn, this website totally sucks" but as soon as I actually browsed around closely.. The more I realized that the site is not so bad. Why? Because the sites had great content. A lot of original and hard to find stuff. This is after all what seperates the best websites from all the rest.

Rick Schwartz has made everybody's life much easier... That is if you are involved one way or another in the domain industry. If it wasn't for Rick Schwartz, things would of sucked. Big time. The guy is a genius and one of the domain industry's top superstars. Since 2004 he has now organized 15 domain conferences. Not just any conferences but pretty big and successful ones. Events that draw record crowds and mainstream press.. That is a huge accomplishment. Big congrats to Rick Schwartz for all that you have done. Rick Schwartz has also made my life much easier as of late.. He has been going at it hard when it comes to blogging and covering the various domainer issues and hot topics.

Frank Schilling is busy working his ass off.. What are you doing?! Reading dozens of blogs...? LOL!

I know for a fact that some of you spend hours per day reading dozens of blogs, each and every day, seven days a week... Without ever missing a single day or new blog post over here and dozens of other blogs too. You are looking for the secret to success. Just hoping that somebody shares it and spills the beans. Hoping to find it one day one way or another... The information that will change your life and take you from a nobody to a somebody!! Right?! You want to get rich quick. You want to get on the fast track. You want to work less hours per day but still get a lot more done too!! Ahh... Yea. Don't we all? :) I am kinda guilty of that too at times though, so no worries. You are definitely not the only one who thinks / acts like that. No denying it. Come on now... It is human nature. Grass is always greener on the other side too especially when you are reading stuff claiming this and that.. Just keep in mind that not everything you read is true... Especially when it is impossible to verify.

Google AdSense custom search.. A powerful monetization channel that is often overlooked

One of the most powerful and proven monetization methods available to a website owner is the Google Adsense custom search but it is often ignored and unused. I don't know why!? Everybody is so used to those standard 468x60 and 250x250 units and whatever... I am sure they work for you and all that, but look.. Visitors are used to them as well. They have seen them everywhere too. Users don't like to click on ads. Period. They come to a site for the content offering and then quickly want to move on and go about doing whatever it is else they do on the internet. Whether it is talk to their friends or to check e-mail.. Going outside to play tennis or basketball, baking cookies, etc. Clicking ads?! Hah... Screw that!

Xedoc Holding SA has one of the best adult domain portfolio's in the world and just recently they added another million dollar domain to their collection.. How much did it cost? Only $1,020,000.. Wanna take a guess at what the domain was? It was WebCam.com ! Surprise surprise. When that domain came up for auction, I was thinking to myself, hmm... So who is going to buy this category killer?! One of the webcam's affiliate programs or a domainer?! One of those domainers who I was thinking about was Xedoc Holding SA of course. The other was National A-1 Advertising. Both companies have thousands of adult domain names and make millions of dollars with them.

NameMedia quietly launches 20,000 of their own websites / blogs thanks to Mochila

When you own one of the largest domain portfolio's in the world... 850,000 keyword domains to be exact and launch actual websites / blogs on a bunch of them.. Nobody really notices. I mean, what is 20,000 domains after all?! It only accounts for a few percent. No big deal. LOL. Well, anybody else who would of mass developed 20,000 domains the same way and launched them as is, it would of been really big news and made headlines but with NameMedia it is nothing new. They have been doing big things for almost 10 years now. Surprisingly there was no press releases or anything like that. This mass development of web sites is all kept on the down low..
Pretty much everywhere you look this days on the web, everything is setup with some type of content management system (CMS) and the most popular choice is of course WordPress. It's not just a blog publishing tool or application or whatever the correct term is... It is a full blown system that can pretty much do everything that you can dream up and need it to do. There is so many cool add-ons for it and the system is pretty damn stable as long as you what you are doing and keep up with the maintenance. It is very dependable and flexible. A lot of cool stuff can be done with it. Did I mention it's free too?!

The most popular question and type of comment in general that I see brought up often on a lot of forums and blog posts is the following "...wonder why these mass developers don't just spend their time building their own revenue producing sites, instead of offering such a low price service to others." which is a pretty good question, right? A lot of others will quickly jump in to the discussion with a response such as "the service is crap, stay away!" but without giving anymore details or "because it is a scam and for suckers" and so on. Therefore, whatever "it is" popular at any given time.. Be it videos, images, articles, guides, reviews, etc...
HealthCare.com is a great business. The CEO of the company is Matias de Tezanos who I am sure many domainers already know from a while back. He has made headlines a bunch of times. Matias is one of the top young entrepreneurs / pure domain developers in the world and certainly one of the most successful latin american domainers of all time. One of the guys backing the HealthCare.com operations from the start and still heavily involved with the business is Rob Monster who just closed down one of his newer businesses, Monster Venture Partners, after burning through a little over $7,000,000 of his own personal money within two years on a bunch of website development projects. Ouch... At least he got HealthCare.com!! Right? It worked out well.. Really. So lucky. Matias also runs one of my favorite websites which I visit pretty much daily.. KillerStartUps.com !
One of the companies I've been following closely over the years is Marchex, who does some pretty cool stuff with domain mass development. They own hundreds of thousands of unique sites and have a majority of them developed, directory style. The sites are filled with relevant business listings. So I noticed last week that they rolled out a new setup. I am sure many will be surprised in regards to this latest move but I am not. I've actually been advocating and saying that this strategy works each and every time for many years now. It is refreshing to see some of the larger companies actually finally starting to get it and try out something new. Something so basic and a no brainer that has been overlooked.. Until now. They are connecting the dots, at last. Good job.

As I've written here before on numerous occasions now on this topic... I've mentioned that about 90% of all blogs and websites in general about the domain industry, development, search engine optimization, marketing, etc. they are all full of BS based on very little proven techniques or from credible sources. Lots of so called "theories" and fantasies too being spread around, in other words straight out lies. There is very little good and original content out there on the web. Most of the stuff is recycled information that has been around forever that people re circulate. I know of maybe 5 - 10 good and worthy domaining blogs at most that consistently come up with unique information that is original and interesting to read which you actually learn and take away something from.

Just the other week I went away for an extended weekend getaway down in Miami. So I wake up Friday a little after noon time in my 5 star room at a resort that is actually just a 10 minute walk from my condo in south beach (I get bored of it sometimes plus I was there the week before too) and my girlfriend tells me that something terrible had happened and that I should come watch the TV. Some crazy lunatic shot up a community center in Binghamton, NY. Now, I have many friends who go to school in Binghamton University. It's a popular university and has a large enrollment plus it's about three hours from where I live. This was really shocking and I was concerned. Maybe I've wrote once on here about something that included something personal and wasn't entirely 100% business; development, advertising / marketing or domains related... But anyways, this is pretty cool, kinda important and yea, I am going to share about how I'll be using some creative advertising and keyword domains for a good cause as well. So lets get to it, exactly in 3 month's from now Tennis legend Andre Agassi is going to be coming down from Las Vegas to the Dellwood Country Club in NY for the Kennedy Funding Invitational organized and brought to you by Kennedy Funding.

The next big thing in domain parking meets direct affiliate integration meets actual websites and your own content too... Behold!

Traditional domain parking solutions are sucking big time this days. So, what do you do? Obviously something has to change and we must evolve because what worked yetserday isn't guaranteed to work tomorrow. In 2007 Sendori burst onto the scene and had everybody energized and was hyped up to be the next big thing or something like that for the domain industry and it's savior that it will increase payouts big time for quality type in domain traffic... Right. Well, it didn't exactly go down or live up to be to those expectations or what it should of but I actually like Sendori's strategy. Don't get me wrong. It did quiet well and probably went as far as they could of. They even got acquired by Ask.com which is owned by multi-billion dollar IAC. Very nice accomplishments.

There are too many hyped up new mass development services and products in the domain industry. Only one full service web development company gets the job done!!

Earlier this month I was interviewed by Ron Jackson of Domain Name Journal. Ron posted a nice cover story for the month of March at DNJournal.com which featured some of the top domain mass development company profiles and backgrounds. You can check out the full article: The Next Big Thing in Domain Monetization? New Companies Are Making the Dream of Affordable Mass Development a Reality. Now, I am not too big fan of any of the other services. The ones that are capable of doing it on a mass scale, such as WhyPark or DevHub all use scrapped content and have too many other flaws. There is no SEO involved either. The ones that do the development custom, site by site, such as AEIOU and SiteGraduate aren't really able to do mass development on a bigger scale and also have no clue when it comes to optimizing the websites.

YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine.. So what's out there for you?! Everything or nothing?

If you didn't already know, YouTube is indeed the second largest search engine in the world right after Google the almighty. Yahoo trails at the number three spot. The video craze and social media hype and all that stuff has been going on for a few years now with MySpace and Facebook and all the rest of the other social networks but when Google acquired Youtube towards the end of the year in 2006 for $1.6 billion it kinda solidified everything that was going on with the social networks meeting the next big thing which has a bright future; videos.

Kevin Ham also known as "the man who owns the internet" head of the Reinvent Media Group wants you to check your credit score online... Badly! If you visit pottery.com or diseases.com, menopause.com, dateandtime.com mufflers.com and so on and so on there is a text link there right in your face that if you click on it.. It takes you to a parked page filled with credit score PPC ads. This is a classic attempt at traffic arbitrage. You take crappy traffic that doesn't convert well or traffic that the payouts suck for (really low, below 10 cents on average) and make an attempt to throw it at PPC ads that do pay well, usually a few dollars per click, hoping to get at least a few clicks here and there and squeeze out just a lil more than you would with the more traditional on-topic setup.

This person followed up shortly there after with some totally ridiculous non sense though which had to be removed and is now banned for good. Sucker! Over the past few weeks I've gotten a lot more abusive e-mails / comments than normal as well as haters submitting my e-mail addresses at porn newsletter subscriptions and some other shopping offers... Ack. Then the other day another hater or maybe fan? Go figure... Called me the "most disgusting domain industry media whore" which kinda upset me a little... Almost teared up. Arrg. LOL!
Developers sure do know what they are doing! Domainers, not so much unfortunately..

There are many successful companies and independent developers as well who have portfolios that consist of 100's, 1,000's and even 10,000+ of on-topic keyword domain names that compliment their online businesses. Without them they wouldn't be what they are today. Those domains help drive targeted traffic and generate business directly without having to rely on third parties 24/7/365. Domains are considered as branches of ones business. So I would like to quickly profile two companies that have been staying on top of things when it comes to this concept that I mention above. It includes strategic acquisitions of on-topic keyword domain names, targeted traffic and business development that is focused on long term growth.

So lets see, you probably suck at research. You probably suck at the search engine optimization part too. You suck because you are lazy and skipped the basics...But don't worry, you are not the only one. Many have this problem. Well, you cannot succeed if you don't understand your mistakes. Looking to innovate domain parking setup and tap into more effective optimization and monetization" but few days later once I published the story the thumbnails were gone, in other words taken off of the parked domains.
Can a website that only consists of one page actually be worth millions of dollars?!

There is all this myths about website development and search engine optimization that in order to have a truly successful website / business you need a ton of unique content and constant updates and tons of link building and all kinds of other seo... Well, of course none of that stuff will hurt to have and it can only help but it is not required. Just a silly myth. You can have a one page website setup with a couple of banners and you will do just fine. You can have a one page website with a few on-topic paragraphs and pictures and you will do even better. You can have a one page site with very little content and still make a lot of money and pull in plenty of search engine traffic. Yes you can.

So there is all this buzz about country code specific domain names as of late, in other words; keyword ccTLD domains and all the potential they may have. It's true.. They do have a lot of potential once developed, as do any other keyword domain name and they do receive some natural/organic type in traffic as well. But why is there such a "land rush" all of the sudden for them? Why is the spotlight suddenly on international domain names?! Is there really a great opportunity here to invest in and then wake up a year or two later much richer without doing nothing? That is the type of stuff that is floating out there..
When the economy went south last year I wanted to do something to help out somehow. At least in the industries that I was involved with. Even if it was only to reach out and help a few people with their businesses because we are facing challenging times in 2009. People could use all the help they can get. So I decided to setup a website and share some of my ideas, experiences and knowledge on a few subjects I am familiar with. A few individuals really inspired me to go about doing so and committing myself 100% to this "project" the way I do with this website currently. One of them is Frank Schilling. Legendary domain investor and very successful businessman who came up in early years of '2000. He invested a lot of his time and energy in running the seven mile blog recently. So I'm thinking, if Frank Schilling did it... So can I.

Some of you may or may not know but one of my biggest successes as far as domain mass development goes has been in the adult business. I took approximately 3,000 hand registered com/net/org keyword domains and turned them into a multi million dollar operation fairly easily. It involved a few partners of mine because pulling off this type of stuff individually is pretty much impossible. It was a team effort from start to finish... It all started in 2004.

I get asked around all the time by clients about running your own ecommerce website store or how to go about somehow teaming up with some of the larger retailers online and creating one big mega store. Whether it is possible at all, how it can be arranged, etc. Well, of course most online retailers do offer api's and customized and whitelabel product feeds and everything can be arranged but it will require a whole lot of customization and progamming. It's a lot of headaches. It will also cost tens of thousands of dollars to get something functional put together. Something powerful and unique? You are talking about $100,000 or more. For first timers and beginners I always recommend to start from something very basic and go from there. Luckily there is Amazon and AOM. A pretty simple straightforward solution and a match made in heaven.

OK, so you are probably wondering, what the hell are you talking about? Well, let me explain how and what went down. So as a routine check of all of my clients websites activities and statistics every other week or so I noticed that one website part of a long time client's of mine which was actually pretty new which we launched a little over a month ago had a big time spike in traffic. Well, it is DJ Mystik, but both variations get pretty much the same amount of searches and activity. So, back when I wanted to setup websites about DJ Mystik in 2006, I went ahead and registered both variations and setup websites on both dj mystik dot net and dj mystic dot net to pull in as much traffic as possible and capitalize. Two websites went up. Currently the DJ Mystik domain ranks #3 on yahoo and #2 on msn for the keyword "DJ Mystik" look it up and see for yourself.
