Xedoc Holding SA has one of the best adult domain portfolio's in the world and just recently they added another million dollar domain to their collection.. How much did it cost? Only $1,020,000.. Wanna take a guess at what the domain was? It was WebCam.com ! Surprise surprise. When that domain came up for auction, I was thinking to myself, hmm... So who is going to buy this category killer?! One of the webcam's affiliate programs or a domainer?! One of those domainers who I was thinking about was Xedoc Holding SA of course. The other was National A-1 Advertising. Both companies have thousands of adult domain names and make millions of dollars with them.
So, nobody really reported / figured out yet that Xedoc Holding SA is the new owner of the webcam.com domain... So I might as well break things down and do a follow up. I actually wrote about the Rick Latona auction of webcam.com a few weeks ago. I was kind of surprised the way things played out... But here we are. Xedoc is the new owner and in my opinion they got a pretty good deal on the domain. More details as to why later on... Ok, yea... So how do I know for sure that Xedoc is indeed the new owner?! Am I psychic?! Uhhh...
Lets see.. The domain redirects to camlive.com which is a whitelabel site setup by Xedoc. The domain is linked up on dozens of other Xedoc owned domains. The domain is registered at Fabulous.com which is where the majority of the domains of Xedoc Holding SA are registered at. Hmm... What else? I think that is enough to conclude that Xedoc is the new owner and nobody figured it out?! Ha Ha. It wasn't as easy as looking in the whois record, since it is setup with privacy. Privacy whois records over at fabulous.com?! Yup.. It's coming soon. In a few month's is what I have been told. The current whois privacy was setup for a very "special client" of theirs meanwhile... You get what I am saying.
I don't really know for a fact that Xedoc has paid more than a million dollars for any other domain in the past prior to this, as most sales in the industry are done privately of course and structured with nda's and all that good stuff.. But another recent big purchase that I remember that they completed off of an auction is FinancialAid.com and FinancialAide.com which Xedoc Holding SA purchased as a pair for $800,000 just a few month's ago at the Moniker.com domain auction which was held in New York. Xedoc has some pretty good mainstream domains too such as Villas.com California.com AirlineTickets.com and so on. Something like 90% +/- of their portfolio is adult domains though...
Xedoc has a special interest in webcam domains and now they secured one of the top domains in that niche. A true category killer! Xedoc already owns LiveWebcams.com LiveGirls.com NudeChat.com AdultCam.com LesbianCams.com XXXChat.com GirlsOnWebcam.com LiveCamGirls.com CollegeCams.com and so on... They have a very nice collection assembled. So what's up with this obsession with webcam domains and why is the domain Webcam.com worth so much money. We are talking about $1,000,000+ which can buy you a whole lot of domains. Loads of webcam traffic too!! Hmm..?!
Well, webcams is big business... If you have a lot of targeted webcam traffic, you are going to be making lots of money with it for a very long time if you are doing a revenue-share. Meaning, you can earn as much as 20%, 30% and even 40% off of each visitor's orders that you refer to a webcam site... For lifetime. Now, some visitors to webcam sites spend $100 per visit. Some spend a few hundred bucks in total per multiple visits. Some spend thousands of dollars per week. There is lots that spend tens of thousands per month or throughout the course of a year. It's really great. You collect a lifetime commission off of each and every client. All those poker affiliate programs are structured the same way. That is why poker traffic is so valuable too.. Just as webcam traffic is :)
The more traffic you have... The better your chances are at getting those guys that become kind of addicted to the webcam's site. They develop a personal relationship with some of the webcam girls. The girl pretty much games them and tells them that she enjoys speaking to him, performing sex acts live for them, etc. It is all fun and games... But kind of expensive. Hey, there is lots of rich people that get on the computer and want to see 3-sums and girls fucking random objects around the house and other fetish stuff and all of it is broadcasted in HQ and in real-time. It is a booming business. Lots of $$$ !
I've been marketing the cams.com and imlive.com program for a couple of years now and I've had visitors spend $30,000 within a few month's. Some spend as much $50,000, 60,000 or more per year easily. It is like a drug or a very expensive hobby. Some of our clients at Maxxximize.com have generated 6 figures from just a few referrals to some of this webcam sites. It really doesn't get much better than this folks. You get a lifetime commission... WTF is 30 cents per click when you park a domain? Are you kidding me?! WTF is $1 ?! That is for losers. The smart guys send directly to the source and cut out all the middlemen. It really doesn't take much work and once I did this too, after getting sick and tired of parking.. My revenues increased over 1000% ! YUP.
There is lots of creative ways to make money with adult traffic... You just need to use your damn brain. Another interesting thing that Xedoc Holding SA does is simply re-direct all of it's 10,000+ domains to tube affiliate sites such as MaxPorn.com NudeTube.com GaySexTube.com for example that kinda trick people into thinking they are signing up for access into something that is free... But they got something totally different coming their way if they don't read the 8px fine print all the way at the footer of the page. A monthly recurring charge!! Hehehe. This sleazy "force-a-sale" techniques work quite well actually and drive conversions like crazy. Nothing really illegal... It's nothing personal, just business. Many adult programs do this as well. Nothing new either.
The other technique that works pretty good in some cases also is a more laid back approach. You offer the visitor a couple of choices and let them self-serve. You can provide a search box or a directory. You let them "shop around" a bit. Xedoc Holding SA deploys this type of setup as well. It can be seen over at Milf.com Pornstars.com Lesbians.com and dozens of other sites that they set this up on. So as you can see... You can keep things nice and simple and make tons of money. All you need is the traffic. Traffic traffic traffic... Ahhh! Without traffic you ain't got shit. You got traffic?! You are the man :)
Content is king but traffic is ace. Always remember that. Good domains help you get lots of traffic if you do the SEO work. Xedoc Holding SA isn't an SEO specialist pro guru or anything like that by any stretch but they understand domains and their values and know how to market well and work with what they have. Xedoc has built a business from the ground up valued at minimum $100 million in fair market value and it doesn't look like they will be stopping anytime soon! A big congrats and a job well done. Keep it going.. Rock on!
