Mastering the art of domain sales... 100+ ways?

Back in January, I wrote up a comprehensive article titled "The Art of Domain Sales..." and here we are almost 9 month's later with a much needed follow up. I would like to share a few more exclusive tips and tricks about how to close $$$$ deals with end-users, quickly and easily. Now, we've been selling tens of thousands of dollars worth of domains each and every month, even in this "tough economic times" because we use proven methods and have systems and processes that get results almost 9 times out of 10. If you follow some of my advice below and stick to the guidelines, you will too... Guaranteed.

I've already covered most of the basics of domain sales in my previous article, so we'll skip all of that newbie beginner stuff and fast forward to how to actually establish communications and create a certain spark of interest from the end-user / buyer's side... One method which I have found to be extremely effective and always get results over the years is the following...

When you send out your e-mail sales pitch, you include a low price that is a hell of a deal for the domain, which only a fool will not be all over if it was actually to sell for that price... Something like a few hundred bucks lets say. The price I usually put down is $500. Now, if the end-user does not recognize the value of the bargain that he is presented with and doesn't get back to you within a day or two at most... Well, in this case that means that there is no hope. No potential of a deal. You wouldn't even be able to give away that domain to him for free because he does not understand domains. Nothing more to be said!!

The whole point of pricing your domain really low is to establish communications. When the buyer gets back to us, we reply with an... "Oops, that was actually a typo.. The price of that domain is $5,000 and not $500 but we will consider all reasonable offers, because we are motivated to sell, etc." and so on and so on.. You get the idea. From there on, you and the buyer go at it back and forth with negotiations. You explain to them why the domain is so good, the benefits of owning it, etc... At this stage, if you sent out an e-mail to lets say 50 - 100 potential end-users.. You should have more than enough potential buyers all over your ass.

Remember though, all you need is one buyer to make a deal... You should know 99% with which one of them you can come down on the price a bit to guarantee a done deal or when to hold your ground and get the most $$$$ possible... You gotta have a real feel for this stuff, and go with your gut and operate based on previous experiences. Domain sales aren't that difficult if you have a clear understanding of some of this basics and especially when you are selling a good domain that is priced fairly.

I've found this method to work perfectly for years now for domains priced in the low - mid four figure range... We've picked up many domain drops and even manually registered domains for $7 and re-sold them for thousands of dollars literally within days. It's all possible once you put your mind to it. You have to master the art of domain sales first in order to be able to do this consistently day in and day out as there is quite a bit of work involved but hey, if you wanna make the big bucks.. You gotta bust that ass and go hard at it.

You have to be a great salesman here... If you can't sell a good .com/.net keyword domain, especially to an end-user who could benefit from owning it, once you have established communications, then you are an idiot. Do you think the best real estate brokers, even during this global recession, aren't selling tons of houses??! LOL... How about car dealers??! Stock brokers?!?? Hehe... The best of the best will always find a way to make a buck here and there.... You know, there is the "top producers" who do not sleep or rest until they solve the problem and then there is all the rest who just go with the flow...

I have a few very good and close friends that are heavily involved with the real estate business and finance too and they have managed to grow their businesses nicely during the past 1 - 2 years... Recession??! Depression???! It doesn't really apply to aggressive salesmen who will always and I mean always figure out ways to make $$$$$$ and thrive in just about any environment.

Anyway's... One more quick tip here before we wrap things up. If and when we determine that the end user is not going to buy the domain, we do the following... We will find similar domains to our own over at sedo, afternic, buydomains, snapnames, etc... Like 5 or 10 maximum!! You know, all of those aftermarket sites have affiliate programs that pay out a commission on every referral / successful sale. So, you send over a "thanks for your time and it was nice chatting" e-mail and let the end user know that similar domains are available for sale and if he is interested... Click click ;)

So sorry for keeping this article pretty short compared to the first edition.. Were you expecting this one to be twice as long with a revelation of 100 ways on how to master the art of domain sales??! LOL... Ooops.. A damn typo!! I only shared 1 here and not 100 as mentioned in the title... I hope we're still OK??! :) Look man, I shared with you probably the best and most effective way to close domain sales when dealing with end users. Do not waste your time by trying over and over again with all of the other methods if they don't work!!

You have to be pretty sneaky and twice as clever than whoever you are dealing with when you are selling em something, in any kind of business, not just domains but real estate, finance, health, etc, in order to get somewhere in life... So follow my simple advice based on years of experience in selling tons of domains to those clueless and innocent end users!! Put in the hard work from here on and you will be well on your way... Cheers $$$$ :)
