Reviews are very useful and help make sense of things... In the present day there are hundreds if not thousands of various services available for the same basic product or service just in tons of variations. So how do you know what's good or not though? Why is one offer better than another?! What's hot and what's really not!?? What do you need to watch out for?? What should you look for? I'll do my best to keep this section updated constantly and share only the best of the best.
The reviews will be on anything and everything that has to do with domain development such as web hosts and advanced development services, domain registrars and promotions, search engine optimization processes, internet advertising management and so on. I will be critical of some services and others I might vouch for and even recommend... That is what reviews are all about. It's just my opinion though at the end of the day and you should do your own independent research and look into anything I mention here further.

The one tool that probably had the most impact and is responsible for billions of dollars in being exchanged over the years is without a doubt the Overture inventory lookup + mass whois, and if it wasn't for those two very basic and free tools... Frank Schilling, Kevin Ham, Domain Active, Most Wanted Domains, Oversee and all of the rest of the most successful domain investors that have made a fortune thanks to acquiring tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands of domains would not be where they are today. Dot com domain names rock.. ALL other gTLD's suck big time... Except for .net of course :)
The .net extension is naturally the second best and most popular choice if dot com is unavailable. No arguing that and the numbers speak for themselves. All other gTLD domains suck... Big time. They are all worthless and I wouldn't even know what to do with "premium" keyword domains that end in .mobi .travel .info .biz .tel and so on. I would not even want to spend a dime on the registration, not to mention development and marketing efforts... Really.

Investing in domains is fun and exciting... Not to mention very profitable. It's the opportunity of our lifetime... Even in 2009! Of course you can't just pop up outta nowhere and attempt to put together a killer portfolio of domains in a few days or weeks. Nope. Here we are well into 2009 and those guys now have 600 prime websites and matching toll-free vanity lines in 27 consumer channels. Sounds good right? Of course.. The top three monetization options for mass developed domains and on-topic networks
My personal favorites and the ones that I always recommend to clients are the following, in no particular order: Aggressive PPC monetization, lead captures and affiliate content integration / co-brands. I've been using each and every one of those monetization methods for many years now and they each have many positives as well as some negatives too! The great thing about development though is that you have plenty of options to choose from. A ton of options!! The opportunities are virtually endless. Do you know who Ken Evoy is? Nope.. Of course you don't. Well, here is a quick intro: Ken is the man responsible for all of the mass development of 100,000's of hyphenated dot com domains since 1997... The guy is an internet marketing and web development pro. I saw websites produced with Ken's system as early as 2001. The recent Rick Latona adult domain auctions didn't go so well. Everybody knows this already. A very small amount of domains sold. I know all the excitement and buzz is surrounding the sale of WebCam.com which sold for more than a million bucks... But did the owner of the domain get top dollar? The answer is no. The day that the auction closed (Sunday, April 12) I went ahead and started a thread at GFY to discuss the WebCam.com domain sale. Can a website that only consists of one page actually be worth millions of dollars?!
There is all this myths about website development and search engine optimization that in order to have a truly successful website / business you need a ton of unique content and constant updates and tons of link building and all kinds of other seo... Well, of course none of that stuff will hurt to have and it can only help but it is not required. Just a silly myth. You can have a one page website setup with a couple of banners and you will do just fine. You can have a one page website with a few on-topic paragraphs and pictures and you will do even better. You can have a one page site with very little content and still make a lot of money and pull in plenty of search engine traffic. Yes you can. I get asked around all the time by clients about running your own ecommerce website store or how to go about somehow teaming up with some of the larger retailers online and creating one big mega store. Whether it is possible at all, how it can be arranged, etc. Well, of course most online retailers do offer api's and customized and whitelabel product feeds and everything can be arranged but it will require a whole lot of customization and progamming. It's a lot of headaches. It will also cost tens of thousands of dollars to get something functional put together. Something powerful and unique? You are talking about $100,000 or more. Marchex has hundreds of thousands of domains and many of them are developed... Well, semi-developed. Domain name natural traffic is the best type of traffic in the world... Not!
There is this perception in the domain industry that pretty much all domain names that receive natural or in other words type in traffic --- that it is the best type of traffic that was ever discovered or is available out there on the internet. Unfortunately, I think it is only a myth and wishful thinking... But what else did you expect to hear from the same people who have invested millions of dollars into domains and who got everything riding on domains and their valuations? Well... It definitely isn't true. Domain name type in traffic isn't the best type of traffic. Not even the second best... Not even the third best type of traffic either. What exactly is domain type in traffic though?

Dark side of Domain Parking... Pretty good payouts and overall a sweet deal but not so innocent!!
The various domain pay per click parking services are the backbone of the domain industry... Without them most domainers would be screwed. Many of the domain parking companies are responsible for most of the industry's expansion over the years as they have helped with the monetization of the traffic... They provide such a sweet deal. You park and forget... Everything is done automatically!! Yea, so awesome... Sounds good right? But there are various issues with domain parking companies that you don't hear much about. I think now is a good time to put it out there and let people digest it and take away whatever people want from it. It's all based on my personal experiences as well as from talking to various individuals that run pay per click parking companies...

Moniker.com and Fabulous.com manage billions of dollars worth of internet domain names for thousands of clients
Moniker.com, a subsidiary of Oversee.net, is one of the top 10 domain registrars in the world by volume. The company manages a little over 2,500,000 million domain names for thousands of individuals and clients as of December, 2008. Approximately 80% of those domain names are all .com, followed by 10% for .net and 4% for .org --- The rest of the tld/cctld domains make up less than 5% total. Fabulous.com manages less domains than Moniker, about 2x less at 1,300,000 domain names total as of December, 2008. A large portion of fabulous.com registered domains are their own actually! Fabulous parent company Dark Blue Sea Limited, owns a couple of other companies in the direct navigation industry...

I've compiled what I personally consider to be the best-of-the-best in 7 different categories. The lists are put together in no particular order. The criteria I used to judge and make up the top five lists was based on the most accomplishments, popularity, quality of service, track record and so on. All of the individuals and companies below have done great things to further promote, support, grow and make the domain industry better in 2008 as a whole. Big congrats to everybody who made it on the list and keep up the amazing efforts and work into 2009! We got plenty more to achieve.

Rick Latona has developed the most generic domains than anybody that I know of by far within the domain industry.
