Pretty much everybody just wants to have a good time and bullshit around as much as possible. There isn't all that many hard working, determined and dedicated individuals who are out to change the world and make a difference today.. Just admit it!! It's OK... Everybody just worries about themselves for the most part and the ones in their inner circle, which is fine. To each his own.
It's mostly all about the "be your own boss" online biz thing this days it seems. There isn't so much this thing we all used to refer to as the "American Dream" anymore... You don't hear it all that much if ever!! Yup... So 2000. So so DEAD. It's all about the "Internet Dream" in 2009 and beyond, you know.. The opportunities are endless here. It's all fair game for the most part too. YAY!! It's mostly the young guns who are coming up and doing big things today. Those 20 year olds rocking hard! 30 year olds too. That isn't so old, right? :D

If you can come up with something similar to Twitter, FaceBook, Google, Amazon, eBay, etc... Something that is disruptive which challenges the traditional ways that things are done and actually enhances the experiences and certain processes... It will catch on fast. Really really fast! The internet rocks!! But not too many people are capable of this unfortunately. It's so damn hard.. This thing called luck has something to do with it too... A lot of things have to come together for "it" to happen the way you envisioned it to.
So, yea... It's really a long shot with all that stuff. Truth is, you never hear about most of the failures...and there is many more failures than successes online. Like 1000 failures for each success. But that is so boring and not interesting.. Nobody wants to report about it or read those stories... Hehe!
That is why you gotta bust your ass and hustle with whatever actually works.. The good ol' fashioned ways that is 100% proven. God knows there is shitloads of them. Gotta make that money one way or another and get a paycheck every week or two. Everybody got bills. Everybody needs a steady income... Plus everybody of course loves to bullshit around and have fun. Coming up with the next "killer" product or service requires some serious working it up, non-stop.

It's all good though.. Fuck it. Lets just have a good time...and you can in fact do that as much as you want if you are working online full time once you are able to connect all the dots. You can choose from like a million different things to stay busy with and roll in the dough. There is plenty of opportunities to go around for everybody. Some of my favorites are domain development, affiliate marketing and e-commerce. Really good money. Businesses that scale well too... Easily!! If you are highly motivated and ready for the big leagues.. You can be right up there. Hard work pays off... PERIOD! What else can I say? :)
The great thing about working online is being able to bullshit around and have fun, whenever you like... However you like. There is no set times to clock in or anybody who you need to report to. You can pretty much do what you want. Gotta love it. I just hope that a lot of the people who have been losing their offline jobs, don't become lazy butts with their new online jobs. I hope that they get motivated and try to do even better online because the opportunities and growth are phenomenal. I hope they set some nice goals and are able to achieve at least some, sooner than later... It's all possible, on the internet!!
A few years ago, around 2005-2006... I had lots of people working for me, doing various tasks. Some of them were younger than me.. Some much older than me... A bunch of my staff were like 40 and 50 years old. Yup! This was when I ran one of the largest Real Estate lead capture operations in the NY tri-state area... I had a very diverse team of people carrying out various tasks. You know who bullshited around the most?! You would never guess!! The older folk... Who worked the hardest and had fun the most?! The younger ones.

Surprise surprise... Hehe! All of the older folk' saw the "internet" related tasks that they were assigned with as pretty boring and they didn't have too much fun. When one of them would tell me that they want to quit (usually after a month or two because I worked them to death) and put in their 2 week notice, I'd tell them that I don't need them to come in the next day and ADIOS!!! Take that, x-employee.. How ya like me now? LOL. Yep... I know. Mean, huh :(
None of the younger guys / girls ever quit on me without having a very good reason... Some of them were my age, and attending College here locally... Some of them were still high schoolers figuring out what to do with their life --- but they just saw things much differently. They were all about working hard and they understood that they were part of the formula for success with the entire operation. Team effort. The older folks were just in it for the paychecks.
I rewarded my entire team each and every week when business was good and let me tell you.. 2006 was an amazing year here. We accomplished a lot and broke through many barriers. We had lots of fun on the job as well as on everybody's free time, when we'd got together... We all bonded very well and worked great too! I'd throw big parties pretty much each and every week and invite everybody's friends and family too to come over for a crazy good time.

We bullshited around a lot!! We did the typical stuff that 20 yr olds do!! Loud music.. Lots of nights that start out as small and innocent party back at home that later ends up to going out to 3 different clubs and coming home at like 7 or 8 AM. But it's all good... You only live ones!! We went at it hard on the weekends especially. Why not?! We're internet warriors. It's how we rolled :D
In summer of 2006 I had 2 vacation rental properties for a few month's time. One of them had a private tennis court situated against a private lake.. The property was actually owned by this guy who just happened to be the CEO of Metlife (he's now retired)... Everybody knows Metlife. If you don't... It is the largest life insurance company in the USA with like a trillion+ dollars worth of policies. I had no idea that the estate was his, but when I wanted to bargain and lower the price at least by a bit (everybody does, right?!) The agent said "it's owned by blah blah, so take it or leave it" so I wrote out a check for the entire summer, crossed my fingers and that's that! Done deal.. Wohooo!!!
A lot of my friends and staff for the most part were into Tennis.. So it was really a no brainer. I had to get a place with a tennis court... Paying for a country club membership for close to two dozen people didn't make sense!! It was also a unique opportunity.. I never seen such a setup here in NY. When I saw the property... I was like "GOTTA HAVE IT, DOESN'T MATTER HOW MUCH IT COSTS" so I was very lucky... I know many people have this setup in Florida and so on against man-made lakes and whatever, but in NY... It's kind of rare.

The second property I rented in summer of 2006 was a 3 level Mediterranean style home on the Hudson River with an elevator, private sanded beach, dock (but no boat) and of course an outdoor pool... It was a 20 minute drive to NYC. Only spent a few weekends there but it was nice to have it as a backup or whatever you wanna call it... Did I really need it? LOL. Nope. Any one of these would of been more than plenty but we all like to bullshit around and have fun... It was definitely one of the best summers and most memorable ones. I wish I had some more of the pictures and videos from back in the day... Not sure it would be appropriate to display on this site though... :D
Anyways... There is a time and place for everything. The internet is the shit and nobody can argue otherwise! It's probably the only place where you can have the best of both worlds. No schedules. Nobody telling you this and that. This internet do-it-yourself thing is awesome and you should take full advantage of it. You find something that works?! Go hard at it.
Look, you can experiment too.. You can mix things up as little or as much as you like. But always remember why you are here. Work comes first. Bullshit around and have fun later. Tons of opportunities may seem to come flying at you from different angles each and every day... But you have to learn management and control. Stick to the master plan or at least try to do your best. Things have a funny way of working out at the end. Stay positive and believe in yourself.. You work hard = you get to play hard. To success!! :)
