Traditional domain parking solutions are sucking big time this days. So, what do you do? Obviously something has to change and we must evolve because what worked yetserday isn't guaranteed to work tomorrow. In 2007 Sendori burst onto the scene and had everybody energized and was hyped up to be the next big thing or something like that for the domain industry and it's savior that it will increase payouts big time for quality type in domain traffic... Right. Well, it didn't exactly go down or live up to be to those expectations or what it should of but I actually like Sendori's strategy. Don't get me wrong. It did quiet well and probably went as far as they could of. They even got acquired by Ask.com which is owned by multi-billion dollar IAC. Very nice accomplishments.
It is the same thing we have been doing with Maxxximize.com since early 2008 privately as well and then we opened up and offered our service to the public later that year. So, Sendori sends traffic directly to advertisers, in other words the traffic is routed via "zero click" and it is the same thing we do with Maxxximize.com for some of the few dozen top adult affiliate sponsors that we have hand picked and been working with closely for many years which combined have a little over 1,000 paysite websites which we promote and upsell. We cover every niche and it's niche-within-a-niche in adult. When you can categorize and break down a niche like that.. Results are SWEET $$$$ !!

At Maxxximize.com we deal exclusively with adult traffic though. Sendori is all over the place. At Maxxximize.com we have broken down the adult niche into a little over 100 sub-categories total and route domain traffic accordingly. So anyways, obviously this is nothing new and this is not what this latest observation is about but there is this buzz around the net that there is a new player that is going to enter this market with a similar service. So, meet Adknowledge.com - a pretty massive advertising company who has been going crazy with acquisitions within the advertising biz.. Just last month they bought out Miva.com media division for $11.6 million which included FindWhat and eSpotting. A lot of domainers in the US and UK has dealt with Miva directly or through one of their domain parking companies at one point in time. They are a 2nd tier PPC search engine and one of the better ones at that. I bought traffic from them. They are good guys. Decent traffic and was a happy customer.

Adknowledge is a performance-based advertising network that utilizes powerful predictive technology to connect advertisers with consumers across multiple channels, including email, search, messaging, domain, and social networks. Over 50,000 advertisers use the Adknowledge ad network to promote their offers. Adknowledge has developed patent-pending technologies that use predictive analytics to study completely anonymous consumer response patterns and display the most relevant advertisement possible per impression.

Adknowledge has grown rapidly through the acquisition of Cubics, Mediarun, Lookery, Adonomics and MIVA, which includes the brand names Findwhat.com and Espotting. Adknowledge has been recognized by Red Herring and also by AlwaysOn Media as a Top 100 Private Companies award winner. Founded in 2004, Adknowledge is a privately-held company with more than 220 employees throughout the world. Headquartered in Kansas City, Adknowledge has domestic offices in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Ft. Myers, FL., New York, and international offices in the United Kingdom and Australia.

So anyways, Adknowledge has some new service out in the works or already out but in private / closed beta.. I've noticed some of the bigger domain players testing it out since the beginning of the year, which include Rick Schwartz as well as National A-1 Advertising. You can visit some of the domains below to see what their setup is all about: fat.com businessloans.com guys.com cash.com handbags.ca commodities.com razors.com stockprices.com tradeshows.com uscitizenship.com and so on.

Basically, they are doing a hybrid of PPC parking and affiliate ad content delivery as well as having the capabilities of displaying actual website content as well like the example of Rick Schwartz' unemployed.com domain. No idea how they charge their advertisers, once their website is displayed, per each impression... Or per click or action or whatever but it is all pretty new and looks cool. Some domains they display at the top the "sponsored links" boxes which load up in the main frame affiliate offers as well as PPC ads from various companies.
Sometimes though they send you directly to a parked page, both Yahoo and Google Powered feeds such as DomainSponsor, Sedo, SmartName, PremiumTraffic, etc. I guess they systematically determine where the traffic is converting best. Maybe they are directly hooked up with Sedo, DomainSponsor... etc via API and get the revenue results in real time and can measure this stuff and normalize all across the board and know where to send the traffic in each category and where not to. Hmm... Sounds complicated, huh? But I believe it works something like that. Once they launch.. We'll know all the details. For sure.

I remember reading somewhere where Rick Schwartz was writing about this stuff recently and I believe that they are the "big news" that is going to be unveiled at the Targeted Traffic show this month in Silicon Valley. I like the concept that Adknowledge has got going on overall and it can work. Although Sendori has already tried pretty much the same thing over 2 years ago. Adknowledge is a huge media company and has the capabilities to pull this off and do a much better job with this than Sendori did which was a small and way too ambitious startup. Adknowledge is a major player. If they are serious about making this work.. Sweet!! This can be huge for the domain name industry.

Also as I had predicted before already and wrote about the new features across Marchex parked domains and Frank Schilling's Name Administration domains which are powered by Yahoo feeds and displaying relevant thumbnails next to the PPC ads.. Well, on Adknowledge setup it is the same thing across one of their PPC engines that is participating in this latest run.. FindStuff.com is also displaying PPC ads from worthathousandwords next to the Yahoo PPC ad inventory. Also some of the "sponsored links" are from Moxy Media... For example wheelscene.com and visafaq.com which I wrote about and profiled the company a while back too who is doing some nice ppc traffic arbitrage on really sweet looking customized pages.
Overall, everybody in this is making some good money I am 100% sure... Whether domainers are though VS. traditional good ol' boring domain parking pages filled with strictly payp er click ads, that I still do not know and remains to be seen but I guess we will soon find out once more people try this out and start sharing the results. It's nice to see new products and services rolled out though. It's about time. It is all about optimization. Always. If you can figure out how to keep improving the performance.. Even by a little. You will succeed! When you stop pushing the envelope and become passive. You lose. There is always room for improvement and always new opportunities to be had. We are in very exciting times and those who sit on their ass and don't do shit once they score once or twice... Well, you will get smoked. You ain't the only game in town. People will take your ideas and tweak them a bit...and rock it out !!
