The most popular question and type of comment in general that I see brought up often on a lot of forums and blog posts is the following "...wonder why these mass developers don't just spend their time building their own revenue producing sites, instead of offering such a low price service to others." which is a pretty good question, right? A lot of others will quickly jump in to the discussion with a response such as "the service is crap, stay away!" but without giving anymore details or "because it is a scam and for suckers" and so on. All of the newbies who have no clue are usually the ones running their mouth when it comes to this... They have nothing productive to add. Ever. They don't have the slightest clue as to what's really going on. LOL!
Of course I can't speak for some of the other domain mini-site developers, as everybody does their own thing and has different business plans / motives but here is what I can tell you in regards to my operation. In particular, the quick start-up domain mass development service that we've been offering for a little over 6 month's here now exclusively for only $999 per 10 domains. It has been a big hit and a major success deployed across 1000s of keyword domains. When I launched this website on October 22 of 2008 and posted my first article... Within 24 hours I already had 2 new clients all ready to go with it.
Within one week of launching WannaDevelop.com and by the end of the month of October I had dozens more e-mails coming in from domainers who were expressing their interest in getting their domains mass developed and were willing to spend money. Lots of money. It is no question that our service is the most bang for your buck. Nobody comes even close as far as prices or quality goes. The service itself is exclusive and not for everybody. I've turned down approximately 85% of all requests that have come in because, well.. The domains were crap and had little to no potential. Development wouldn't do much for them. I do not like to waste peoples time and money. I do not like to get involved with projects that are going to fail. I like to create win-win deals.
Six month's in with the WannaDevelop.com website and I've acquired dozens of new clients and we've mass developed 1000's of domains already with 1000's more in the works. Some contracts are for a dozen domains, some for hundreds and some for 1000+ which are pretty big projects as you can imagine which will be rolled out overtime of course. Things are looking good and as busy as ever. But back to the original question.. Why don't I just mass develop my own domains?? Why do I offer this service for other domainers?! Well, just so you know --- the domainers orders for mass development currently accounts for approximately 10% of my business. Which is nice.. A 10% that didn't even exist prior to October of 2008.
Most of my clients and business comes from other SEO agencies which I've been working with for years now and web development companies who actually outsource many of their work to us and we also have partnerships with the big boys who charge you 10x or more for the same services if you get it from them but that is how it works. We cross sell some of our own services as do they. This is business 101. As for our $999 quick start-up service offered exclusively to domainers, we barely break even on those orders. A lot of times we even lose money on orders. How much money do we make on orders of a dozen or a few dozen site orders?! Not enough.. It is not that much! If you probably knew how much time and resources went into putting together a properly developed and optimized network.. You would be like "WTF!?! how do they offer this service for $999 and why is it so cheap!? WOW!!" so here is this post... Once and for all, I am going on record and telling you just how it is.
You see, the $999 pricing is a promo to acquire new clients. We also upsell a lot of other services to clients down the road. If they are happy with the mass development, they will do more business with us as well as spread the word. It is a pretty good strategy for "business development" and one that works. It is nothing breakthrough.. All of the smarter companies do this one way or another in a couple of different ways. We make some decent money on domain mass development orders of 100+ domains... But the real money for us is in the clients with hundreds and thousands of domains. This is what we are after.
We've luckily now signed up a few "serious" domainers and companies who we see eye to eye and who clearly understand that development is key and are in it long term.. People who have said bye bye to parking. For good! This was one of my goals and I am very happy to have accomplished it. I think there is a lot more business to be had and that is why I will continue to invest my time and resources to reach out further in the domain industry. It has been very challenging to get the message across and penetrate but we definitely getting somewhere here. There has been a lot of progress in the past 6 month's.
We've now got dozens of new clients from all over the world using and loving our domain mass development services: USA, Canada, UK, Australia, China, Japan, Russia, Italy and so on. Domainers and successful businessman from all over the place who are tired of playing the waiting game who want to make some real money with their domains. Anybody who thinks that dealing with domainers is easy... Let me assure you, it is not :) It is a lot of headaches and so on but as a service provider, it is nothing new to me. I've enjoyed all the challenges and as I've mentioned before many times on this website, what keeps me interested in the domain industry and motivated is all the challenges... With those challenges come many great opportunities and you can bet your ass off if there is money to be made.. I am there!
Anybody who still doesn't get domain mass development and all it's positives... Anybody who talks shit about it and doesn't want to even look into it properly.. It is your loss. You are behind the times here my friend and we are almost halfway into 2009. What the hell is wrong with you?! Domain mass development is just as big as parking was for the domain industry, if not bigger. The key is to do it right of course. We've got systems and processes to do this the right way thanks to years of experience dealing with it. Since 2002 I've been going at it non stop. Tweaking and optimizing each and every little thing. Others may very well be able to mass develop lots of domains, which isn't so hard, but are they doing it right and providing a cost effective solution?
We will have a few big announcements coming up later this week. One of them being a brand new service which takes domain mass development to the next level. More details to follow in just a few days. This service has been requested by many of our current clients and has been in the works for a long time now. Finally, we've worked out the pricing and all of that stuff and will be making it available to everybody at the most affordable prices and in a couple of plans. We will probably do more biz in the month of May alone with the domainer community VS. the previous 6 month's combined. Excited?! Me too.. Lets go!
